Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To be able to work on your own under pressure and take responsibility regarding patient care in the Emergency Department.
  • To book patients into the Emergency Department and printing of relevant paperwork.
  • To photocopy Emergency Department documentation.
  • Forwarding copied documentation to GP practices.
  • To make clinic appointments.
  • To ensure paperwork for clinics is collated.
  • To work with Emergency Department computer systems, Lorenzo and clinical portal in accordance with Data Protection Act.
  • To show compassion towards bereaved relatives and direct them to appropriate private area, informing nursing staff of their arrival.
  • Deal with enquires, both by telephone and in person, taking appropriate action and ensuring that confidentiality or personal health data is maintained.
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
  • To participate in appropriate meetings.
