Shift Patterns:
- 11 hr shifts - 07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 - 07:00
- 7.5 hr shifts - 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00, 22:00 - 06:00
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient reception support service to the Emergency Department, undertaking associate clerical duties and maintaining a caring and compassionate environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To be able to work on your own under pressure and take responsibility regarding patient care in the Emergency Department.
- To book patients into the Emergency Department and printing of relevant paperwork.
- To photocopy Emergency Department documentation.
- Forwarding copied documentation to GP practices.
- To make clinic appointments.
- To ensure paperwork for clinics is collated.
- To work with Emergency Department computer systems, Lorenzo and clinical portal in accordance with Data Protection Act.
- To show compassion towards bereaved relatives and direct them to appropriate private area, informing nursing staff of their arrival.
- Deal with enquires, both by telephone and in person, taking appropriate action and ensuring that confidentiality or personal health data is maintained.
- Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
- To participate in appropriate meetings.
