Main duties of the job

  • Raise awareness of T Levels throughout the system, educate and influence internal staff to support with industry placements (IP’s)
  • Build a live record of the system’s capacity to support IP’s 
  • Develop IPs for an array of settings including clinical and non-clinical linked to relevant T Levels
  • Manage relationships and enable dialogue with all T Level providers in the ICS footprint
  • Develop and implement policies, guidelines, toolkits and other associated governance to effectively identify, place and support IPs across the ICS
  • Support ICS/Trusts to engage with local providers who are offering or considering offering T Levels
  • Take responsibility for leading the planning and organising of Ips 
  • Facilitate IPs in T Levels across the system in response to localised student numbers 
  • Complete tasks that will enable and support placements which would otherwise be left to organisations to deliver
  • Monitor placement progress and provide a point of contact for line managers and
  • Work with the Department for Education to provide Monthly KPI data and evidence collection, case studies and to share good practice
  • Monitoring of Department for Education budget spend against grant funding

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Purpose

  • This post will deliver a fixed term project funded by the Department for Education to establish a sustainable system wide operational strategy for T-Level engagement.
  • The postholder will have responsibility for working collaboratively with colleagues across the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System (ICS) to raise the profile of T Levels and develop a high quality, diverse range of Industry Placements (IP’s) for learners within our geographical footprint to access.
  • The postholder will work in partnership with provider organisations to establish a sustainable system-wide operational strategy for T Level engagement that establishes and maintains employer/provider relationships and establishes clear pathways to employment within the NHS.
  • Working with colleagues, support to establish and over time grow the number and breadth of industry placements (IP’s) within the ICS, whilst establishing a quality framework for delivering and monitoring quality placements
  • As a system lead for this project, the postholder will enable knowledge mobilisation and sharing of best practice across the system via steering groups, formal and informal check- ins and cross-system relationship building.

General

  •  Develop IPs for an array of settings including clinical and non-clinical linked to relevant T Levels
  • Manage relationships and enable dialogue with all T Level providers in the ICS footprint
  • Develop and implement policies, guidelines, toolkits and other associated governance to effectively identify, place and support IPs across the ICS
  • Support ICS/Trusts to engage with local providers who are offering or considering offering T Levels

Planning and Organisation

  • Take responsibility for leading the planning and organising of Ips and relevant processes to support Trusts and learners
  • Facilitate IPs in T Levels across the system in response to localised student numbers to meet the scale of the future demand- prioritising programmes in line with the workforce priorities of the various providers within the system. (e.g. prioritizing health, healthcare science and digital before routes such as engineering and manufacturing)
  • Complete tasks that will enable and support placements which would otherwise be left to organisations to deliver- this could include activities such as standardized role profiles, interviewing and allocation of students, signing of agreements, induction, placement reviews, rotational placement coordination etc.

Reporting and monitoring

  • Monitor placement progress and provide a point of contact for line managers and students during placements
  • Work with the Department for Education to provide Monthly KPI data and evidence collection, case studies and to share good practice
  • Monitoring of Department for Education budget spend against grant funding

RELATIONSHIPS

  • The majority of relationship building will be external to the Trust due to this role being a system post, hosted within a Trust.
  • Relationships will be required across all providers within the ICS, and are likely to include Widening Access and Participation teams, Practice Education teams, Heads of Departments, Service Leads, local authorities, schools and FE providers, DWO services, NHS England, Department for Education.
  • Develop relationships with other pilot sites across England to share good practice and develop a sustainable framework for long term IP growth and development.
