Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Agile and Flexible Working
All our staff will have a work base. However the Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. However, occasionally travel around Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful.

Opportunity for registered Pharmacy Technicians and Science Manufacturing Technicians!
We are recruiting a Cleanroom Supervisor to oversee the workflow in our licensed aseptic manufacturing unit, preparing items under a section 10 exemption and MHRA specials license.

You will undertake our comprehensive training package, under the supervision of experienced Pharmacy Technicians and SATOs.
The successful candidate will need strong communication skills, be self-motivated, have excellent time management skills, have a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to excellent, safe practice.
Access to the site at Warwick Hospital is easy, with Warwick Train Station in walking distance and nearby access to local bus routes. Drivers will find the site easily accessible via Junction 15 of the M40.

To carry out aseptic duties, make aseptic products for various sites, and make licenced products for external customers.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Supervise and prioritise the daily workload in the cleanroom to ensure products are produced in a timely manner to meet patient appointment times.
Supervise, monitor and carry out observations on the standard of work being carried out by Senior Assistant Technical Officers (SATO), Assistant Technical Officers (ATO), Pre-registration Pharmacists and Pre-registration Technicians staff working in the Aseptic Unit.
Work in line with SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Trust policies and guidelines to provide a safe, effective and efficient aseptic service.
Assist the Senior Technicians to maintain, develop and implement aseptic procedures to improve service and reduce risk and /or improving cost-effectiveness.
Liaise with Aseptic staff and Ward staff regarding prescribed medications, delays and supply issues of Aseptic products, providing resolutions for supply issues which will be acceptable to staff and patients.
Implement the rota, and deploy SATO, ATO, technicians and Pre-registration Pharmacists and Technicians to different areas to ensure workflow is uninterrupted.
Contribute to the development of new ways of working, and help to implement new working practices and procedures through Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Deputise for the Senior Technicians as necessary, in the Co-ordinator role.
Report to Senior/Lead technicians with any concerns regarding staff, practices or facilities.
Ensure the recording and reporting of any incidents (internal and external) are carried out in line with departmental QMS and Trust requirements.
Ensure that daily, weekly, monthly ,quarterly and annual environmental monitoring is undertaken in accordance with SOPs.
Assist Senior Technicians with the orientation, training, validation, and assessment of new members of Aseptic staff.
Dispense pre-filled medications and provide a clinical technical service for patients.
Ensure that a robust stock management and rotation system is maintained.
Complete regular stock checks on a rolling basis, investigate discrepancies and correct some irregularities in collaboration with Senior Technicians.
Assign or complete the costing of items made in the Aseptic Unit, using JAC system. Ensure it is completed in a timely manner, highlighting to Senior Technicians if there is an issue with the completion of this task.
Take part in the manufacture/production and in-process checking of patient specific items under Section 10 Exemption, Specials Manufacturing Licence and Clinical Trials. This includes:
- Producing and checking worksheets and labels.
- Collecting and checking ingredients and consumables for manufacture or production of items.
- Making and in-process checking of batch items under Specials Manufacturing Licence.
- Completion of clinical trial logs.
Take part in the provision of Clinical trials within the Aseptic Unit.
Complete initial check on outsourced items obtained from external companies.
To aid the Lead Technician Quality or Senior Technicians with investigations into environmental excursions.
To undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time, such as - participation in weekend and Bank holiday rota (if required) and be available for post Planned Preventative Maintenance cleans and validations.
Relationships
Managed by Lead Technician, Aseptic and Cancer Services.
Supervises Pharmacy Assistants, Senior Pharmacy Assistants in Aseptic Unit, Technical rotational staff, Pre-registration Pharmacists and Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians.
Works and co-operates with all pharmacy and healthcare staff in the provision of services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Has Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent and registration with the GPhC -or- Relevant Level 3 Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent qualififcation and RSciTech registration with the Science Council
Experience

- Significant Aseptic Laboratory experience

- Experience working under MHRA Specials Licence
