Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting 1.0 WTE Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Team Leader to manage the IPS team in Sandwell co-located within Secondary Care Mental Health Services.  The successful candidate will support the team to increase access to quality IPS interventions and support service users to achieve and sustain employment.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting 1.0 WTE Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Team Leader to be based in our Sandwell team. The team is currently compromised of 6 Vocational Specialists who provide employment information, advice & guidance to a range of our community secondary care mental health service users across the Black Country.   

This role will support the team to maintain focus on employment as a key part of individuals’ recovery and care plans; providing supervision, advice and mentoring in order to achieve core employment and delivery quality outcomes.  The successful candidates will support the NHSE KPI submission with clear and accurate data collation, ensure that the quality of service delivery remains  in line with Fidelity audit requirements and that co-production is embedded in our ethos.   This is an exciting opportunity to continue to develop innovation and deliver an exemplary  service.

Post Title: IPS Team Leader

Department: IPS & Retention Employment Services

Location: Black Country; Sandwell

Directorate:  Strategy and Partnerships

Band: 6

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term - 12 Months

The role will  work collaborating with clinicians, service users, families and employers.  The successful candidates will support a small team who carry a caseload of up to 25 individuals who have experienced severe and enduring mental health problems who are unemployed or seeking work.  

Key responsibilities include:

*Collation and submission of monthly KPIs and caseload management tools for Vocational Specialists.

*Reviewing adherence to Fidelity and any associated self assessments. Strategic planning to address any areas of improvement / sharing best practice. 

*Managing staff and complying with HR policies and procedures as required.

*Creating and maintaining partnerships in the geographical area both internally and externally.

*Carrying a small caseload and leading the team by example for delivering a high  quality service.

  • Management training or equivalent experience
  • An ability to lead, supervise and develop a staff team independently
  • An ability to initiate and develop relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Working knowledge of the barriers faced by individuals who may be socially excluded and furthest from the labour market
  • Ability to consistently achieve performance and quality targets
  • Good report writing, IT and information management skills
