Job overview

We are looking for a enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our skilled and friendly specialist Physiotherapy team.

Improving physical health for people who have a Learning Disability continues to be a strong focus for our Learning Disability services. You will contribute to the delivery of high quality, safe care and will support the development of clinical pathways that meet national Learning Disability guidance within the organisation.

 

Main duties of the job

You will carry a clinical caseload, delivering  physiotherapy assessment and treatment to adults who have a Learning Disability and complex physical and neurological problems with  support and guidance from the senior physiotherapist.

You will be based in a “single point of access” L.D. therapy team as part of a Black Country wide approach,  collaborating closely with other health professional peers; such as Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists etc

The successful candidate will assist the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and Principal Physiotherapist in planning, evaluating and developing the Physiotherapy service in line with the: Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, NICE and NHS England guidance.

The candidate will be required to have a full driving licence, due to the community aspect of service provision and the transit of patient equipment.

Membership of relevant Professional Networks area also encouraged.

To complete assessments, treatments and managing of own clinical caseload supporting people with learning disabilities and physio needs in the community.

Working alongside a team lead and delegating to an assistant practitioner physiotherapist.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Recognised degree and HCPC registration
  • Student placements or qualified clinical work to have provided a broad range of experience in: Musculoskeletal conditions, stroke and neurology, respiratory and paediatrics.
  • 3 A levels or equivalent qualifications
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a car for employment use.
  • Currently residing in the UK/Visa to work in UK.
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience/CPD in LD and or relevant physio field
  • Experience of supervising physiotherapy assistants.
