Are you passionate about helping people regain independence and live meaningful lives? We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner (Band 4) to join our supportive and dynamic team.

In this rewarding role, you’ll work closely with experienced Occupational Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You’ll play a vital part in supporting individuals to build skills, overcome challenges, and achieve their personal goals—whether that’s returning home, managing daily activities, or improving overall wellbeing.

No two days are the same. You’ll be hands-on in delivering therapeutic interventions, supporting assessments, and working directly with service users across a range of settings. You’ll have the opportunity to use your initiative, develop your clinical skills, and make a genuine difference to people’s lives every day.

  • Support the assessment of service users’ functional abilities and occupational needs.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation programmes as directed.
  • Monitor and record progress, reporting changes to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist with provision, demonstration, and review of adaptive equipment.
  • Promote independence, safety, and wellbeing in daily activities.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Support risk assessment and safeguarding processes

The Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner will work as an integral part of the Occupational Therapy team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. The post holder will work under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist to implement delegated assessments and therapeutic interventions, helping individuals to maximise their independence, safety, and participation in meaningful daily activities.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work directly with service users across a range of settings, supporting rehabilitation, recovery, and wellbeing. You will use your skills and initiative to contribute to care planning, monitor progress, and adapt interventions within agreed competencies.

The role requires excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills, as well as a compassionate and proactive approach to supporting individuals with diverse physical, mental health, or cognitive needs.

  • Equivalent clinical experience in OA Mental health setting
  • Experience in group work development and facilitation
