An opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Eating Disorder Practitioner Nurse to join the SEDS Service. We are a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering NICE recommended treatments and aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders.
Previous experience of working in an eating disorder service is desirable but not necessary, as we offer considerable in-house and external training opportunities. The post will be supervised by a senior member of the team. There will be extensive opportunities for being involved in research/service development and nurturing special interests.
Covering the whole of Sussex, SEDS provides specialist eating disorder services across a large geographical area. With the introduction of remote working, there is scope, where possible, to tailor your working pattern/location to the needs of both the service and you. Currently we are keen to recruit from across Sussex.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities of the role:
- The post holder will provide specialist eating disorder assessment and interventions including delivering evidenced based treatment to adults with eating disorders in an outpatient setting.
- To be responsible for own clinical caseload and work autonomously
- To monitor and report on progress of out-of-area placements and ensure robust follow-up care is place for preparation for service users return to local services.
- To provide specialist advice and consultation to internal and external colleagues
- You will provide NICE recommended therapy for eating disorders
- To monitor and promote the health of patients with eating disorders.
- To provide supervision to junior members of the team.

REQUIREMENTS
Successful applications will be required to have:
A degree/ diploma in Nursing
Current registration relevant to professional body
Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties.
Ability to travel across sites (use of car desirable).

- Post Registration Study to master level in a relevant field or equivalent experience
