An exciting opportunity to join a growing team in a modern, stand-alone Children’s Hospital by the sea in the South East of England.  

 

Working as part of a busy and vibrant team, you will be a part of providing excellent day to day care of patients rostered to on the Paediatric Wards and in Children’s Emergency Department and in Children Critical care. 

Main duties of the job

  • Provide consistently excellent care in the paediatric emergency department, and wards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Full-time including participation in a full shift rota system working across the Paediatric Wards, the Children’s Emergency Department and Paediatric Critical Care (level 2). 

 

Successful applicants will work on the middle grade registrar-level rota, in a combination of day shifts, long days, night shifts and weekends as part of a full-time European Working Time Directive compliant rota. Less than full time working applications would also be considered. Applicants are required to have post-registration experience of working in the NHS.  

 

The clinical duties of the post include the day-to-day care of the patients at RACH.   

 

This role will be located at RACH and will involve covering depending on the rota any of the clinical areas  

 

There will numerous opportunities to attend the hospital teaching programme. You will also be expected to help teach our medical students.

Experience/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Basic medical degree
  • • Postgraduate qualification or appropriate specialist qualification (MRCPCH membership)
  • • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • • Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • • Details of any additional qualifications, accreditation and courses
  • • Higher Degree

Clinical Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Understanding of clinical risk management
Desirable criteria
  • • Details of experience in other related specialties at ST1 – 4 equivalent Level

Knowledge

  • • Breadth of experience in and outside specialty
