People Partner (Band 7)

We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking People Partner to join the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb). This pivotal role acts as a trusted advisor to directorates, influencing workforce strategy and ensuring that people practices reflect our values of Kindness, Integrity, and Courage.
As a People Partner, you will work closely with Strategic People Partners, operational leaders, and specialist colleagues to embed the People Strategy at a local level. You’ll provide expert advice on a broad range of people management areas — including employee relations, workforce planning, staff engagement, talent development, and organisational change.
This is a hands-on, strategic HR role where your ability to interpret complex people issues and deliver clear, pragmatic solutions will be essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

Deliver day-to-day HR support across your allocated directorates

Lead organisational change projects, including restructures and consultations

Use workforce data to influence local and strategic decision-making

Support and upskill managers in effective people management

Represent HR at formal hearings and staff forums

Partner with trade unions to foster strong collaborative relationships

Coach line managers and drive consistency, fairness, and best practice

What We’re Looking For

Chartered MCIPD or working towards, and educated to Master's level (or equivalent experience)

Strong understanding of UK employment law, ACAS Code, and NHS HR frameworks

Experience managing complex ER cases and supporting change programmes

Evidence of policy development and delivery of manager training
-
High emotional intelligence and the ability to build trusted partnerships

A values-led, proactive approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Chartered Member of CIPD (or actively working towards)
- ducated to Master’s level OR equivalent senior-level experience in HR
Knowledge

- In-depth knowledge of UK employment law & ACAS Code of Practice
- Knowledge of HR strategy, policy development, and implementation
- Understanding of managing organisational change (e.g. TUPE, restructures)

- Leading or supporting organisational change
