Job overview
Sussex Partnership is seeking to appoint a part-time Specialty Doctor working 6 Programmed Activities on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months to join our Learning Disability Service. The post is with the Hastings & Rother Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) based in Hastings. Sussex has lots to offer including:

The successful applicant will provide specialist psychiatric services for assessment and treatment of adults with a learning disability and provide community psychiatric care to adults with a learning disability living in the catchment area for the pos.t You will ensure clients are supported adequately to enable them to function optimally in the community and where they relapse they receive prompt and appropriate treatment to retain mental health and social functioning.

This is a newly developed post to be offered as a fixed term contract. The post holder will provide specialty doctor input to Learning Disability Services in East Sussex in a community setting.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- 4 years at full-time postgraduate training or higher or equivalent experience with at least 2 years in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty
Desirable criteria
- MRCPsych
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
Eligibility
Essential criteria
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
Desirable criteria
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
Clinical Skills, knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Excellent knowledge in specialty
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
