As a Trust we are committed in making a difference. Your development is important to us, so don't forget to ask us during interview what opportunities we can offer. We can offer fully funded lifelong learning opportunities such as an apprenticeship from GCSE to Masters level.

If you like the sound of that, then come and join our team.

Job overview

This exciting opportunity is based across two secure wards at the Hellingly Centre – 0.5 WTE on Oak Ward and 0.5 WTE on Blossom Ward – offering a diverse and rewarding clinical leadership role within a specialist forensic setting. Both wards have Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists.

If you’re an enthusiastic and compassionate MPARC looking for a role that offers the right balance of challenge and flexibility, look no further than our service at the Hellingly Centre.

You’ll be working alongside a dedicated team of experienced forensic clinicians who are passionate about supporting you at every stage of your career. Together, we are committed to delivering specialist care and promoting recovery within a structured rehabilitation pathway for individuals in a secure and forensic setting.

As part of the Ward Team, you’ll work collaboratively with the leadership team and service managers to ensure the most efficient and effective use of resources.

Working within a secure and forensic environment, our focus is on delivering high-quality, person-centred care and facilitating meaningful rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health needs, often under the Mental Health Act.

Main duties of the job

You will provide consultant-level clinical leadership within secure forensic service, part of Specialist Division at SPFT. You will have a caseload as Responsible Clinician for patients under the Mental Health Act. Day-to-day duties include inpatient care (mental and physical health) of the patients, leading MDT meetings, ward rounds, risk assessment and management; delivering evidence-based interventions; overseeing clinical standards and governance; and providing supervision to nurses and other professionals. You will contribute to service development, training, audit, and research, while working closely with senior leaders to shape strategic priorities. The role balances autonomy with collaboration, ensuring safe, person-centred care that promotes recovery in a secure environment.

Working for our organisation

At Sussex Partnership we are committed to providing opportunities for flexible working. If you would like to work differently or different hours to as advertised, please get in touch to discuss this in more detail.
