Job overview
The post offers an exciting opportunity to join the Reception and Security team as a Clinical Security Coordinator in support of the Security Manager, Service Manager and the Hospital Matron .
The post holder will provide a comprehensive Reception and Security service under the direction of the Security Manager.
Proven management and customer service skills are a must have.
Previous experience within Secure Services or law enforcement is desirable, but more important is flexibility and customer service skills.
Full training for the role will be given.
The post holder will sensitively assist in the security of the Unit using a limited access system and the monitoring of the entry and egress point.
The post holder will be responsible for liaising with hospital mangers, day to day security, team management and a quality service is delivered.
The post holder will have the following attributes, excellent time keeping, good communication skills and good interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service. They will have a willingness to develop own knowledge and skills and be open to change and be able to work alone at times.
Ideally, they with hold a training qualification so that they can assist in the training of staff across the service.
Main duties of the job
- Oversee and take responsibility for the day to day management of the reception area and surrounding environment
- To provide effective line management to all Clinical Security Assistants management
- To be responsible for the security systems within the reception area
- To take a lead in delivering high standards of Customer Care
- Roster management
- To liaise with Estates and Facilities and other delegated contractors in relationship to work schedule
- Responsibilities for the internal and external inspection of our buildings and perimeter boundaries and the internal auditing
- To participate in the delivery of Service Induction Programmes
- To take responsibility for induction training of the Clinical Security
- Participate in the development of policies, procedures
- To work in conjunction with the ward Security Nurses in developing the security role within the clinical area and to carry out routine security audits
- Resources, Finance and Estates & Facilities, plus external contractual
- Liaising with Estates & Facilities & External Contractors for maintenance and security of the building and its resources
- When requested to assist in the investigation of security matters or breaches of security
- To ensure that all telephone and personal enquiries made to the service are dealt with appropriately in a confidential manner

- Diploma or equivalent relative qualification
- Management/Supervision Qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum 3 years experience in administration to include 1 years experience of managing/supervising staff
- Strong working knowledge of administrative systems and computer software programmes
- Experience and evidence of analysing and interpreting and presenting information
- Experience of Security Roles and Risk Management
- Previous experience in a similar role
