COVID-19 Vacancy Hub Practitioner Team Lead

NHS AfC: Band 7

We’re a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We’re looking for people to help us provide high quality services for the patients, carers and local communities we serve.

We want patients and staff to recommend our organisation as a place where they would be happy for their friends and family to be treated. You can help us do this by bringing your skills, experience and commitment to Sussex Partnership.

Summary:

Sussex Health and Care Partnership Integrated Care System (ICS) has been awarded a grant via the NHS England and NHS Improvement Mental Health Programme to establish a mental health and wellbeing hub to provide information, support and rapid clinical assessment for NHS and social care staff. Development of the hub, called Sussex Staff in Mind (SSiM), and the communication and engagement strategy to promote it, is being led by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust on behalf of the ICS.

The Hub:

The Hub was launched on 19th January 2021 and offers mental health and wellbeing support to all NHS and social care staff across Sussex, including:

  • Proactive engagement, including outreach / in-reach to groups known to be at higher risk
  • Rapid access to a clinical assessment for those in need
  • Light touch care co-ordination and review for everyone accessing assessment via the Hub

The Hub builds on the broad range of existing support offers nationally and locally but is outside of staff’s employing organisations. The Hub aims to engage those less likely to seek help or who are not making use of current offers within their organisations but who are in need of support.

Access to the Hub is via a standalone website providing information, access to an online screening questionnaire and access to rapid clinical assessment. Staff are offered a biopsychosocial assessment and supported into treatment in IAPT or other sources of support. Staff are also offered follow up and review to support the staff journey into and during any required treatment or if in need of further support.

The Hub identifies at-risk groups and delivers a digitally-enabled proactive outreach programme, highlighting risk factors and inviting staff to access help and support via the Hub.  The Hub will work with networks already connected with and supporting higher risk groups to engage and develop initiatives to address issues impacting on access to support.

The Team:

The Hub is looking for a Hub Practitioner Team Lead to oversee the referral process and assessment appointments, provide supervision to colleagues, ensure adequate service cover, as well as work as a senior primary care mental health practitioner, providing a role model for other practitioners, using a high level of evidence-based clinical expertise. This role involves close collaboration and partnership with other services within the Sussex Health & Care Partnership.
