Job overview

An opportunity has arisen in Acute Services based at Mill View Hospital.  We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our admin team.    The post is to provide administrative support to the clinical team on the ward.   

The post holder will be highly organised and will need to provide an accurate and timely administrative service. 

The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate that they have the relevant experience, good organisational skills, have an excellent telephone/communication manner and an understanding of confidentiality.  

They must be able to work well independently, manage changing demands and priorities and also be able to work effectively as part of a team. 

They will also need to be an effective communicator when dealing with service users, carers and health and social care professionals.  We are looking for a person who has initiative and strong values. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who has:

  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as works well in a team
  • Has good PC Skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide full administrative support to the Clinical multidisciplinary team working in the ward environment by: 

  • Ensuring availability of all forms of documents both paper and electronic required by the team
  • Answering the ward phones
  • Liaising with both internal and extremal agencies.
  • Maintaining information on the trust clinical systems.
  • Supporting other administrators working in the team when required.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent qualifications
  • Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • RSA 3 or equivalent experience and evidence of further practical experience or equivalent
