Team Leader, Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NMHT)

NHS AfC: Band 7

Come and join us

We're looking for people who share our values (compassion, accountability and optimism) to help us provide high quality care to the patients, carers, families and local communities we serve. We specialise in providing NHS mental health and learning disability services.

So what can we offer you in return?

We're an organisation which puts people first. We'll do everything possible to help you feel respected, valued and included. We'll help you learn, acquire new skills and gain further experience to support your career development. And we'll provide the opportunity for you to bring your fresh ideas to work about how we can do things differently and continue improving.

You will also be joining a health and care system committed to working together to do the best we can for the communities we serve. Above all, at Sussex Partnership you'll have the chance to make a difference to the lives of the patients, carers and families across our communities.

As a Trust we are committed in making a difference. Your development is important to us, so don't forget to ask us during interview what opportunities we can offer. We can offer fully funded lifelong learning opportunities such as an apprenticeship from GCSE to Masters level.

If you like the sound of that, then come and join our team.

Job overview

Are you ready for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our transforming Community Mental Health Team in Hove.  This is an exciting time for Community Mental Health Services as we transform to a new, integrated, Neighbourhood Model with our Primary Care and Voluntary Sector partners.   Working in the vibrant and diverse city of Brighton and Hove, we support people with severe and enduring mental health needs. We use a recovery focused approach and work very much as a team to ensure we provide the highest level of care to the people we serve in our community.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working creatively and flexibly, and who thrives in a fast paced role. If you’re a confident Team Leader or wishing to develop your skills further in this area, passionate about working with people and shaping the development of Mental Health Services for the community you work in, this could be the job for you. You will be joining a robust and established leadership structure within our Neighborhood Mental Health Team.

We’re committed to providing care that really suits the needs of the individual person we are working with and we would love to work with someone who shares that same enthusiasm for excellent patient care.

In this varied role you will have the opportunity to really work within and for our community in partnership with the Early Intervention Service, Specialist Personality Disorder Service, Mental Health Rapid Response Service, Assertive Outreach Team, Group Treatment Service, In-patient services, GP surgeries, and the ever-growing primary care services and third sector organisations.  You will be joining a friendly, highly skilled, and enthusiastic team comprising Consultant Psychiatrists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Psychologists to name just a few.

As Team Leader it will be your role to bring the best out of our staff team and support them in managing the complex demands of clinical work while maintaining their own wellbeing and resilience.

We offer an established supervision structure and great training opportunities to help you develop your skills in leadership and management as well as other areas of professional development that interest you. We really enjoy working in this team and we want you to as well.
