SPFT's People Function plays a crucial role across the organisation in supporting and empowering both the clinical and non-clinical workforce in the delivery of our Strategy.

  • To provide day to day advice and support to employees and line managers on employment terms and conditions and routine employee relation issues, within existing policies and procedures.
  • To provide day to day advice and support to line managers on Absence Management.
  • To support the employee relations team and function.
  • To maintain an effective, competent and professional level of service to the trust.
  • To continually review and refresh employee relation, processes, procedures and guidance to ensure it is legally compliant and reflects best practice.

We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire.

Essential criteria
  • Level 5 CIPD or equivalent level of experience
  • Evidence of recent CPD

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Generalist HR experience working within a complex organisation with exposure to a range of general HR issues
  • Experience of interpreting and advising on complex terms and conditions, policies and pro cedures
  • Experience of using and extracting information from HR/Payroll Database
  • Experience of working cooperatively with trade unions
  • Experience of advising managers on sickness, disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Experienced and understanding of the scope and practical application of current and impending employment legislation
  • Experience of introducing changes to working practices, policies and Knowledge and understanding of key issues within the NHS and/or other public sector organisations.
