The Senior Community Nurse post is a predominantly clinical role with a split in role of 90% clinical and 10% non-clinical work. As a Senior Community Nurse with a minimum of 12 months experience in community nursing post holders will utilise their knowledge, skills and expertise to assess, plan, implement, monitor and review patient care. Knowledge and Skills will be used to develop competencies and clinical knowledge with patients, carers, colleagues, students and the wider multi-disciplinary team. 

As a Senior Community Staff Nurse post holders will also support the District Nurse Caseload holder with caseload management and, have a key role in communicating important information through the team.

  • 2 years post registration experience
  • Post graduate qualification in specialist field or equivalent experience
  • Professional degree or diploma in relevant field
  • Maintains a portfolio of CPD in line with regulatory body standards

  • Long term condition experience or willingness to undertake
  • Community nursing experience
