The Community Dental Service's award-winning Oral Health Improvement Team are looking for a passionate oral health support assistant to join the team. The resource assistant will provide clerical assistance to the delivery of all oral health programmes in both the office and community settings. The role includes working closely to help recruit and support schools to take part in the toothbrushing programme , carrying out quality checks in schools and the delivery of resources to all community, nursery and school settings involved in the oral health programmes.

Extensive regular travel across the district is a requirement of the role in order to successfully undertake the range of duties specified within the job description. Therefore, it is essential that applicants have the ability to travel regularly across the district to meet the needs and demands of the service.

Main duties of the job

To provide efficient and comprehensive administration support, including clerical assistance to the delivery of the evidence based oral health Improvement programmes across the Bradford and Airedale District.
The post holder will be required to provide support with the delivery of resources to all community, nursery and school settings involved in the oral health programmes.

  • RSA 2 typing Word Processing or equivalent European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent
  • Educated to GCSE standard English & Mathematics

  • RSA 3 Typing/Word processing or equivalent
  • Business Administration Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of organising challenging demands and workloads
  • Experience of busy office environment and can demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use the telephone in a precise, clear manner.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the NHS Medical/Dental terminology
