We currently have exciting vacancies within the South locality of Bradford, with the flexibility to work across the wider Bradford area as service needs require.

As a valued Health Care Support Worker, you will be an integral part of our planned care community nursing service, delivering essential care and support to patients in their own home environment. No two days are the same — you will be working closely with patients, families, and colleagues, ensuring that care is safe, effective, and person-centered.

We are committed to helping you grow and develop in your role. You will receive a comprehensive training package and be supported to build a wide range of clinical skills. This includes wound care, continence care, diabetes management (including insulin administration), enteral feeding support, and medication administration. These are just some of the rewarding and specialist skills you will gain through structured training and ongoing support from our experienced clinicians.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the Adult Community Nursing Services over a 7 day period. 

Ensuring high quality health care is delivered to patients in their homes as an integrated part of the mainstream Integrated District Nursing service. To work in collaboration with the wider Primary Health Care team, whilst participating in the assessment of health needs and delivering of care to the practice population. The service is delivered over a seven day rota.  with a shift range from 8- 9pm 7 days a week 

We have great development opportunities for our Health care support workers  supporting apprenticeship programmes  to undertake pre registration training to be come a registered nurse or  Nursing associate. 

This position is not eligible for sponsorship set by the Home Office and the skilled worker visa occupation list.

If you are currently a visa holder and your visa status expires, we may be required to terminate your employment in compliance with immigration regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with patients, ideally in a community setting, and hold an appropriate NVQ (or equivalent qualifications/experience). Most importantly, you will bring compassion, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering excellent care.

As an agile worker, you will also need to be able to travel independently and in a timely manner across Bradford to visit patients in their homes.

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths and English, Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 in H/S Care or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Calderdale Competencies
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Basic Wound Care

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with clients who have mental health and/or substance use problems.
  • To be able to use own initiative and respond appropriately to a wide range of unfamiliar situations
Desirable criteria
  • Involvement in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working.
