Main duties of the job

Responsible for the Logistics service for the Trust, including warehouse operations, picking and packing of goods, coordinating multiple-drop deliveries and driving duties. The role also involves managing daily tasks, allocating planned and reactive work via the computerised system, and the continual improvement of workflows for greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Completes weekly ward stock item inventory, maintaining stock levels for consumables in line with agreed set maximum levels ensuring orders are processed and submitted within the required deadline on the NHS Supply Chain System. Supports receipting of stock, goods and deliveries, including investigating and analysing issues relating to stock discrepancies or fault finding with placed orders.Supports operational staff in delivering professional, high quality, customer focused services in line with departmental and directorate objectives.

Essential criteria
  • Qualified to or working towards Level 3 certification in logistics, warehouse or storage or operations management or equivalent experience, skills and knowledge
Desirable criteria
  • ILM 3
  • Level 3 Diploma in Warehousing and Storage

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Computer skills, inputting information onto purchase order systems.
  • Experience of logistics / warehouse work
  • A good understanding of stock inventory systems
  • A good knowledge and understanding of transport legislation
  • Customer focussed
