Job overview

This is an exciting and ambitious partnership role working across the children’s system (health, education, care, VCSE) to refine, develop, complete and embed the Talking Bradford pathway.

The role is a 1-year fixed term contract from commencement in the first instance.

The role will involve taking a lead on behalf of the system working with partners and stakeholders to deliver high quality talking environments that make up the Talking Bradford Pathway, creating a preventative, integrated, evidence based and sustainable offer for children, young people and families.

Main duties of the job

The role requires specialist knowledge, passion and experience of working within the Early Years, understanding the challenges and opportunities of working in the Bradford system and prior knowledge and understanding of the Talking Bradford Pathway and the earliest speech language and communication offers to our children and families.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Post registration qualification (Level 7) in Child Development,& Education or equivalent qualification And/or Higley specialist knowledge in Child Development underpinned by the theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Other health care professional qualifications

Training

Essential criteria
  • • Able to demonstrate a rich portfolio of reflective practice and completion of relevant training, development, courses.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Experience of working with practitioners from a range of organisations/services through partnerships and collaboration.
  • • Extensive experience working in and across Children’s Services in the Bradford district.
  • • Experience of speech language and communication needs in children and contribution to the development of the Talking Bradford Pathway.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of relevant area of practice – relating to babies, children and families. Understanding of national and local policy affecting the Early Years agenda and health services for children.
  • Evidence of success in engaging with and motivating professionals, individuals and groups from differing backgrounds to achieve a common goal and to ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Can promote the value of evaluation and research and ability to understand research papers and translate for a wide audience.
  • Delivery of key objectives within a designated timeframe to create sustainable change
  • Proven track record as an Early Years leader, with evidence of a professional portfolio of publication, conference presentations and research.
  • Experience of project management. Proven teaching and assessing skills
