Job overview
A fantastic, exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Band 7 Highly Specialist SaLT, to lead our new Family Hub Community partnership for Early years. This 12 month fixed term or secondment opportunity will allow you to lead a team of speech and language clinical support workers to deliver universal, targeted and where needed specialist interventions across our neighbourhood Family Hubs.
You will work alongside partnership colleagues and local families to aim to help increase the number of pre-school children with age-appropriate communication skills. This post will provide the opportunity to lead the team, to support to our early year’s population and their families, to access timely support, close to home. It will provide opportunity to upskill our partnership workforce in early identification and intervention to maximise language learning opportunities for all.
The Speech and Language Therapy service provides a supportive network of generalist, specialist and highly specialist therapists working in a wide range of clinical areas, and there are excellent opportunities for continuous professional development and clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job
Key requirements of the role include:
To assist and lead for the Family Hub project in the operational management, and delivery of the Family Hub project, leading, developing and transforming services for CYP with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SCLN) within the available resources
Assist the SLT clinical manager, lead in liaising with services across the partnership to build capacity and capabilities at targeted and Universal levels.
To line manage and support staff in relation to performance, recruitment, appraisals and Continuing Professional Development.
To develop and deliver training to Support workers, colleagues and families within the partnership
To hold and manage a caseload of highly specialist pre-school children from the project area and to provide Highly Specialist assessment, therapy, advice and support to identified children within the Bradford District Care Trust area and some external tertiary networks

Essential criteria
- • Registered Speech and Language Therapist with Health Professionals Council
- • Registered with Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- • Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
Desirable criteria
- • Leadership training/qualification

- • Evidence of training others e.g., carers/staff/service users/parents/ health professionals etc
- • Training / experience to supervise assistants
- • Willing and able to undertake any training appropriate to the role or its development
- • Evidence to show applied learning from CPD

- • Experience and knowledge of working in, leading and managing a team.
