We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our large, friendly, multi-disciplinary Audiology team, for a period of 18 months, although there may be possibilities for this to be extended.

Applicants must be qualified Audiologists with a BSc in Audiology (or equivalent Audiology qualification), have Registration with HCPC or AHCS (or pending), and have training/work experience in an NHS audiology service.

The post-holder will participate in both the assessment and rehabilitation of adults with hearing difficulties and should have a thorough understanding of patient management systems and hearing aid technology.  The department provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service to the population of Bradford and surrounding areas as well as supporting ENT clinic both at base within Bradford Royal Infirmary and at out-reach centres.

The department operates extended working hours enabling staff to work a 4 day week, and is looking at Saturday working

  • Working with the public
  • Working in a team
  • Working/training within an NHS Audiology service
  • Experience regarding the audiological assessment and management of adults with hearing difficulties

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively and politely with patients
  • Able to work as part of a team, and confidently with staff at all levels
  • Good organisational skills, including management and prioritisation of own workload
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
  • Knowledge of hearing aid technology
  • Ability to record clinical and professional activity

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Audiology or equivalent,
  • Professional registration with relevant UK body (HCPC or AHCS) (or in process with application if newly qualified)
Desirable criteria
  • Hold a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle
  • Member of BSA/BAA
  • Supervision/Mentorship qualification
