An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new position to support the Respiratory Science team at Bradford Royal infirmary. Ideally this would be suitable for someone who is passionate about healthcare science and the use of technology to improve patient diagnosis.

You must hold either ARTP Level 1 accreditation, or being willing to attain within the first 12 months. You should have an understanding of respiratory physiology  at either Level 4 Respiratory Healthcare Science level, or relevant degree level. You must also be IT literate and be able to problem solve. Excellent communication skills will be essential as you will be working face to face with patients.

 

This post is ideal for those who have completed a Level 4 apprenticeship in Respiratory Science, or who have completed a relevant degree such as Sports Science. 

If you love science and technology, enjoy working with patients and their families, and have attention to detail then this is the post for you.

Main duties of the job

You will  undertake pulmonary function tests and spirometry, as well as assisting with more complex testing and ensuring that databases are kept up to date with accurate information. You will be responsible for undertaking quality controls.

  • Experience of working in a busy mulita-disciplinary team
  • Able to work under pressure and to cope with distressing/difficult situations
  • Knowledge of Respiratory physiology at BSc level
  • Excellent level of literacy and numeracy
  • Complete ARTP Level 1 within first 12 months
  • Basic Life support skills
  • Computer literate
