We’re a friendly, hardworking team that’s looking for someone determined and enthusiastic to help us with the day- to-day logistics of all goods delivered to the Trust.  In return, we can support you to develop in the team and further your career in a lively, forward-looking workplace.

You will be taking a proactive role in supporting the Logistic Services Supervisor in signing for and checking in goods, matching goods against the delivery notes then distributing the goods to the end users. The post may require some receipting of goods onto the computer system from time to time.

On the job training will be provided along with a uniform and safety footwear.

Essential criteria
  • Working with the Public/Customers

  • Working in a Hospital/ Care Home/ Healthcare Environment
  • Working in Supply Chain and Procurement Stores

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths and English* pass or equivalent

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
  • Ability to use a computer system for basic email, word and spreadsheet programmes
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of appropriate Portering procedures
  • Health & Safety Training/Lifting & Handling
  • Ability to use Oracle purchasing system (or similar)

  • Ability to follow instructions (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work to schedules, procedures and deadlines

  • A reasonable level of fitness is required as heavy lifting will be necessary with this role in accordance with manual handling training as well as multiple delivery runs around the estate on foot with manual and powered handling trolleys per day.
