We are seeking a Clinical Educator to join our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting role is pivotal in supporting the education and development of both unregistered and registered clinical staff, including Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, Midwives, and Allied Health Professionals.

As a Clinical Educator, you will contribute to the design, delivery, and evaluation of training programmes, ensuring high-quality education that supports patient safety, clinical competence, and professional development. You will also play a key role in supporting staff with career development plans and accessing CPD funding, helping to shape the future workforce.

Main duties of the job

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate training courses for clinical staff, including Health Care Assistants and registered professionals.

  • Support learners with the Care Certificate and clinical competencies.

  • Assist with practical clinical skills training and simulation exercises.

  • Work alongside staff in clinical areas to assess and support learning.

  • Support staff in career development planning and accessing CPD funding.

  • Collaborate with clinical and education teams to identify learning needs and develop new training opportunities.

  • Contribute to mandatory training, risk management education, and workforce development initiatives.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive post registration experience in healthcare profession involving direct patient contact.
  • Evidence of teaching and assessing in clinical settings, preferably with experience of teaching practical skills at a range of levels.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of providing clinical care to individuals with critical and complex care needs (adults or children or both).
  • Experience or involvement with simulation training.
  • Experience of writing policies/guidelines.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Experience of providing leadership and managing in a clinical environment.
  • IT skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Desirable criteria
  • Project management skills.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality.
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff.
  • Knowledge of patient safety and risk issues

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant professional qualification with full registration with the NMC or HCPC
  • Relevant recognised teaching/assessing qualification e.g. SLIP, PGCE.
  • Relevant healthcare degree.
