Join us at Bradford Teaching Hospitals as our new Facilities Supervisor within the Catering Services Management Team.

The successful candidate will support the Catering Services Management Team, by supervising and providing supervision to staff in order to ensure that a first class service is provided to all areas of the Trust by the relevant service area.

This will involve developing a detailed knowledge and understanding of the service provided, and developing good working relationships with other supervisors, Facilities Managers and staff.

Main duties of the job

The Jobholder will be required to assist in the effective management, development and support of a team of staff across the Estates and Facilities division.  Working as part of the existing Catering Services Management Team providing a professional customer focused quality service within available resources.  You will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation, control and training of Catering Services personnel ensuring quality delivery through direct supervision.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Must have relevant experience of people management skills and customer care skills.
  • Experience of working in a busy catering environment
  • Experience of staff management skills including staff training and producing rotas
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of cash handling procedures

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to instruct/train staff, both verbally and written
  • Ability to complete appropriate documentation as required
Desirable criteria
  • Computer literate

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of budget requirements
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of COSHH principles

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in catering supervision or equivalent
  • Completion of customer care training
  • Literacy level 2 GCSE Grade A-C Numeracy level 1 GCSE Grade D-G
Desirable criteria
  • Intermediate food hygiene
