A Band 6 opportunity has arisen on Ward 16, Gastroenterology In-patient Ward, within the General Surgery and Digestive Diseases Clinical Service Unit.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring senior staff nurse looking to develop their management skills and undertake a Band 6 role within the gastroenterology ward.

Main duties of the job

Ward 16 is a 19- bedded ward that caters to patients with gastro and digestive disease-related conditions within the Digestive Disease specialty.

The successful candidate will have line management responsibility and would be expected to manage people alongside training and clinical supervisory responsibilities with support from the band 7.

The post holder will contribute to the operational management of a safe and quality service delivery on ward 16, management of the workforce, budgetary oversight, patient experience, recruitment and retention of staff and effective patient management and flow.

  • Post registration experience, including experience of working in a relevant clinical specialty
  • Significant post registration experience
  • Experience in contributing to effective care and discharge planning
  • Recent relevant post basic experience with gastro-related conditions
