This is an exciting new post for an individual with previous administrative and/or healthcare experience to work on a range of clinical research trials in the Research Team based at Bradford Royal Infirmary, and with the potential to work with different specialties across the Trust
The role will involve providing administrative and patient facing support to the Clinical Research Teams across Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will work closely with the Clinical Research Nurses/Midwives, Research Matron and the multidisciplinary team to enhance and support the recruitment to clinical trials, thus facilitating a high-quality research service. The post holder would support both commercial, non-commercial and NIHR portfolio clinical research.
The post holder will be expected to interact with patients and their families in relation to the requirements of the clinical trials and be able to work without supervision in some areas.
Main duties of the job
Working mainly with the ID, ICU, Vascular, ENT, Head and neck Research Team within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust you will be responsible for providing both administrative and clinical support. To assist in the evaluation of patient eligibility, in liaison with other appropriate health care professionals for clinical trial entry, involving the co-ordination of pre-study tests, obtaining results/X-Rays/scans etc. and arranging appropriate appointments as per clinical trial protocols To assist the co-ordination of the patient’s journey through the clinical trial protocol e.g. requisition and organization of any necessary investigations, procurement of patient notes and reports.
You will work mainly within a designated Research Team, with an expectation to work with other specialties to help provide support for clinical trial participants ensuring a high quality research service. The post holder will be expected to interact with patients and their families in relation to the requirements of the clinical trials and be able to work without supervision at times.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assist in the evaluation of patient eligibility, in liaison with other appropriate health care professionals for clinical trial entry. Involving the co-ordination of study tests, obtaining results/X-Rays/scans etc. and arranging appropriate appointments as per clinical trial protocols
To assist the co-ordination of the patient’s journey through the clinical trial protocol
To assist with providing feedback to specific research teams and MDT members
The post holder will demonstrate the ability to manage their own administrative case-load
To be responsible for the collection and collation of trial data and completion of trial documentation in accordance with trial protocols.
To ensure that all trial data is submitted to the study sponsor within the specified time constraints
To provide administrative support for research nurses as required
Ensure that office and clinic supplies are adequately ordered and stored for the smooth running of the trials.
To ensure that all members of the multidisciplinary team are aware of the current trials portfolio.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of education to a minimum of GCSE level
- NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or Healthcare (or equivalent experience)*
- Experience with BTHFT administration
- Computer literate WORD, EXCEL
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- A willingness to undergo personal development and learn new skills
- Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of related clinical research
- Knowledge or experience of Admin at BTHFT
Skills
Essential criteria
- IT skills including use of Microsoft word, outlook and excel
- Able to work on own initiative/Proactive approach
