We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and dedicated homecare services team.  

Main duties of the job

You will:

  • provide support in the delivery of a quality homecare medicines supply service to patients under the care of the homecare service in Bradford.
  • provide a link between the specialties and the homecare services team to improve the timely prescribing, ordering and supply of patients’ medication to reduce both wastage or missed doses of treatment.
  • maintain the safe, efficient and cost-effective supply of homecare medicines to patients under the care of the Trust
  • To provide routine advice to patients/carers on pharmaceutical products and further supplies including liaison with prescribers and pharmacy professionals.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of Technical pharmacy service delivery post qualification acquired through NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC equivalent level qualification plus specialist training and experience to degree or equivalent level.
  • Experience of working in a similar role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in homecare services
  • Experience of supervising staff including basic HR advice
  • Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Numeracy skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Good team working skills
  • Demonstrable attention to detail
  • Computer literate

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Medicines Management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pharmaceutical technical procedures specific to the area of work

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (NVQ) or equivalent qualification
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Accredited Checking Technician
