Based at The Pennine Suite in St. Luke’s Hospital, the successful candidate will undertake a wide range of direct care, film handling and administration duties.

The Integrated Breast Service is responsible for the Symptomatic Breast Service for the Bradford area and for the Pennine Screening Service.

The Pennine Screening Service is part of the National Breast Screening Service (NHSBSP) and is responsible for providing the screening service to 5 districts (Calderdale, Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Bradford and Airedale).

There are 4 mobile units which provide screening in the 5 districts and 1 static unit, at The Pennine Suite.

 There are approximately 170,000 eligible women (between the ages of 50 – 70) to invite for screening once every 3 years.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the multidisciplinary breast team, you will prepare and manage mammographic images, uploading onto PACS system following trust information governance procedures. Correctly preparing and sending out mobile unit clinics. Collating  interventional clinic lists using trust computer system. Assisting Radiologists and Advanced Practitioners performing interventional procedures in NHSBSP recall, one stop symptomatic and interventional clinics . To assist in stock level maintenance

  • Care certificate** **If care cert not currently obtained, a minimum NVQ Level 2 in health/health and social care,/ QCF Diploma in health, /*GNVQ in health or health and social care and willingness to work towards care certificate is required.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
  • Understanding of what the NHS Constitution means to you, and your responsibilities to the public, patients and colleagues.
  • Literate and Numerate

  • Previous experience of working within a radiology environment
