We are looking for a passionate and dynamic dietitian, who is enthusiastic, proactive and motivated, looking to progress and develop their skills in a more specialist position.
We are recruiting to a 12 month fixed term role, for a dietitian to provide ongoing support to our inpatient wards, supporting patients requiring complex nutritional support.
You will be responsible for patients admitted to our gastroenterology ward, providing dietary advice and treatment to patients with a range of gastrointestinal conditions, particularly those with liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and pancreatitis.
You will also be responsible for other inpatient wards and so experience working in an inpatient setting is highly desirable. You will be supporting patients who are acutely unwell requiring nutritional support and enteral feeding.
Excellent communication skills are essential, and you should be keen to engage with clinicians and the wider MDT. Successful candidates will work with the B7 team leads to seek opportunities to lead nutrition improvement through service improvement and audit, and you will be well supported with regular supervision.
Main duties of the job
To undertake full holistic nutritional assessments of patients who are acutely unwell.
To provide dietary treatment and nutritional support to acutely unwell patients admitted to hospital.
To manage own caseload of inpatient wards, and support the wider acute team to ensure safe nutrition treatment to inpatients.
To work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that nutritional plans are appropriate and implemented.
To undertake service improvement, including the evaluation of own work, audit, and outcome measures.
Bradford is a vibrant, diverse, multicultural city and our patients have varying social, cultural, language and financial needs that make every day an interesting one.
There are a wide range of entertainment and leisure activities available locally. There are good road and rail networks to Leeds and the M62 corridor, and easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the South Pennines.
Applicants must be HCPC registered Dietitians, who have obtained relevant clinical dietetic experience, and who are car drivers with access to a car.
Bradford's Nutrition & Dietetic Service is a dynamic team of over 50 Dietitians working across the whole of Bradford District, providing Acute, Community and Primary Care services, supported by an excellent clerical team with good IT and library facilities.
