We are currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic dentist who is committed to improving patient care and contributing to our team’s mission of delivering an outstanding patient experience. Some travel across the district and managing a mixed case load are requirements of the role to successfully undertake the range of duties specified within the job description.

Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, evidence-based clinical care for patient groups
attending the Community Dental Service.
a) Undertake a thorough examination and assessment of patients using
the most appropriate restorative, periodontal and surgical treatments.
b) Plan and manage care for a range of patients.
c) Plan, develop and implement appropriate evidence-based interventions supported by self-care.
d) Undertake an appropriate assessment of patients to determine the
need for specialist advice.
e) A requirement to participate in public health work and research.
f) Required to work with conscious sedation techniques and in general
anaesthetic settings. Training will be provided.
g) Provide treatment in a number of community settings including nursing homes, private residences and on the Mobile Dental Unit.

- Full registration with the GDC or eligible for full registration
- Must be on a Dental Performers list
Desirable criteria
- Achieved or working towards MFDS
Experience

- Completed foundation year 1 training (DF1)
- Relevant post-registration experience in primary dental care
Desirable criteria
- Completed dental core training (DCT)
- Attended training courses in special care dentistry, paediatrics, dental public health

- Previous experience of working in the Community Dental Service.
