Are you ready to advance your career in ENT? Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) is seeking a dedicated Consultant in ENT Surgery to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for consultants passionate about driving innovation and improving patient care in ENT services.
Role Overview
As a Consultant in ENT Surgery , you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ENT services across the Trust. You’ll work closely with our established team to deliver high-quality care to both adult and paediatric patients. This full-time post comprises initially of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) but offers flexibility for part-time applicants.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general ENT surgical services, with an opportunity to develop subspecialty interests such as Rhinology, Laryngology or Paediatric ENT Surgery.
- Perform outpatient clinics, operating theatre sessions, virtual RAS clinics, and share on-call duties on a 1:6 rota.
- Engage in teaching, clinical governance, and research, contributing to the development of our future workforce.

Essential criteria
- FRCS or equivalent
- Applicants must be Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise
Desirable criteria
- Specialist registration for ENT (or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK)
- Other higher degree (PhD, Masters)
Experience and Achievements
Essential criteria
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of the ENT specialty
- Understanding current issues within ENT and the future direction of the specialty
Desirable criteria
- Understanding current issues within the wider NHS
- Attendance at a recognised management course
- Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions
Teaching and Training
Essential criteria
- Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff.

- An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required with the Disclosure and Barring Service
