An exciting opportunity has arisen for two whole time equivalent Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists to join our friendly and supportive Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service on a 6-month fixed-term basis.

part of a dynamic and experienced team committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that makes a real difference to children and their families.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
-Assess, diagnose, and manage children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.
- Plan, deliver and delegate individualised, evidence-based intervention programmes.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, education staff, and other professionals to support each child’s communication development.
- Contribute to team meetings, case discussions, and service improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to data collection and audit as required.
-Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and continuing professional development opportunities.
About You
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who is:
-Qualified and registered (or pending registration) with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
-Passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full communication potential.
-A reflective and proactive learner, keen to develop within a supportive team.
- Able to build positive relationships with families and colleagues across education and health settings.
- Flexible, organised, and confident in managing a varied caseload.

Essential criteria
- Relevant Degree/Diploma.
- Registered with HCPC
Desirable criteria
- Member of Professional Body.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
Essential criteria
- Undergraduate experience in a wide range of clinical area
- NHS or Social Service experience
- Good clinical reasoning skills
- Evidence of CPD and reflective practice
- Awareness of relevant Legislation, NSF’S/ Local and National initiatives.
- Basic understanding of Clinical Governance
- Critical Appraisal Skills
- Ability to maintain legible and accurate records
- Ability to undertake assessment and formulate treatment/management programmes with patients/clients, acting as an autonomous practitioner
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working at Band 5 leve
- Presentation skills
- Recent experience demonstrating ability to assess, treat and evaluate speech, language and communication difficulties in a children’s therapy service
COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES)
