Job overview

Undertakes the manufacture of a wide range of Sterile Pharmaceutical

Products in compliance with all local procedures and with the principles of

current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).

Main duties of the job

To prepare, pack and sterilise a wide range of products. These include infusion bottles, eye drops, injection vials, disinfectant solutions and pain-controlled syringes.

To operate manufacturing and computer equipment within the area.

To perform work in a clean and tidy manner, accurately following written procedures at all times.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Prepares and fills a wide range of sterile medicines and other products.

 

 

· Uses, disassembles, cleans and re-assembles a variety of manufacturing and filling equipment.

·        Works in a clean and tidy manner.

·        Assembles batch documentation for products manufactured.

·        Assists with the training of new members of staff.

·       Assembles and transports from the storage areas, components, raw materials and consumables required for the production process.

·  Performs specialised cleaning of the production area, or other pharmacy areas as necessary to cover sickness, leave and absence of specialised cleaning operatives.

·      Removes rubbish, pharmaceutical, clinical and other waste materials to designated sites within the hospital.

·     Handles and moves goods and equipment (maximum weight 25kg), transferring them between cages, trolleys, cupboards and work areas and shelving that are at different levels.

·      Transports manufactured batches to the finished goods store or bond store as appropriate, and ensure that the necessary documentation and/or samples are taken to Quality Control.

·        Participates in the Performance Development Review process.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • 3 GCSE’s or equivalent including English language and Mathematics.
Desirable criteria
  • Computer Skills

EXPERIENCE

Desirable criteria
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and cleanrooms.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / EXPERTISE

Desirable criteria
  • Previous manufacturing experience Keyboard skills Computer Literate

PRACTICAL / INTELLECTUAL SKILLS.

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Neat and tidy appearance. Able to understand and follow written procedures.
