Job overview

The post holder will provide support to the Domestic Services Manager for the day-to-day management of Domestic services providing high quality, effective and customer focused services throughout the Trust.

The post holder will ensure that their working practices adhere to the National Standards of Cleanliness 2025 and be responsible for the efficacy audits within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

To facilitate an efficient and effective Domestic service for staff, patient and visitors to Airedale General Hospital. The successful applicant will have day to day operational responsibility for the Domestic team, reporting to the Domestic Services Manager.


Support the Domestic Services Manager in ensuring full compliance with 
the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness by coordinating audit 
activity, monitoring performance against Functional Risk requirements, and maintaining robust assurance reporting mechanisms that evidence cleaning quality, rectification actions, and continuous improvement across all service areas.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant qualifications and or equivalent experience – Domestic Services
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience within an NHS setting
  • Understanding of NCS
  • Previous experience in hospital/health care setting
  • Previous staff management

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience working with the public\ customers
  • Previous supervisory/management experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a hospital/healthcare/care home environment
  • Previous experience of complying with Health and Safety regulations

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates an understanding of confidentiality, Dignity and Respect
  • Willingness to complete mandatory training and any departmental training\qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of Information Governance
  • Knowledge and understanding of National Cleaning Standards – NCS
