We provide a wide range of services from traditional facilities management and estate maintenance, to sterile services, wheelchair engineering and procurement, to clients both within and beyond the NHS.

Job overview

We are looking for a careful and experienced driver to join our team on a 25hr per week permanent contract, working 1200x1700hrs Monday to Friday.  This opportunity involves an approximately 100 mile loop around Airedale, Harrogate and Leeds NHS trusts.

You must be able to communicate effectively with internal & external customers, and work colleagues throughout the process of delivery of the service, ensuring Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is able to deliver the right care for patients.  You must have a flexible “can-do” approach and be able to resolve problem s as they arise and be self reliant when out on the road.

This is a physically demanding role and involves lifting, pulling and pushing.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, have a clean driving license and have experience in a similar kind of role.

We are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual capable of working well within our current Transport Team.

Main duties of the job

AGH Solutions Transport & Logistics Department is committed to providing a high-quality standard of service to all its customers. 

Transport & Logistics drivers undertake the transportation of various items (sterile services equipment, Linen, pathology samples, medication, records etc) to and from external community sites and the premises of other external customers.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Clean driving licence, with no pending penalties
  • Must have a good standard of written and verbal communication

Experience required

Essential criteria
  • 2 years driving experience in delivery vehicles up to and including 3.5 tons
  • Experience of working with a diverse range of people
  • Experience of working within a team but also able to work on own initiative

Skills

Essential criteria
