Are you a dedicated Health Care Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opening for a Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our dynamic team on Fern Ward at ACMH (Currently Willow Ward at LMH).
About Fern Ward:
Fern Ward is a 15-bedded male acute ward, providing specialized care and support to patients in an acute setting. The ward benefits from a full multi-disciplinary team (MDT), including experienced Psychology and Occupational Therapy professionals, a Consultant Psychiatrist, and skilled Nursing staff — all committed to delivering outstanding patient care.

Main duties of the job
Provide a range of clinical support as required in a highly efficient manner
contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the ward.
Provide care to patients to maintain their personal hygiene, physical and
psychological comfort ensuring that their privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
Work in partnership with patients to respect their rights and choices.
Recognise patient’s needs and changing condition and respond appropriately and effectively.
Assist in the emergency resuscitation of patients as per Bradford District Care Foundation Trust’s Resuscitation Policy.
Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
Record and report information onto patient administration systems in written and electronic format, including assisting generic administration duties to assist the team.
Promote and demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication at all times with patients, relatives and colleagues recognising the need for tact, consideration and confidentiality.
Deliver excellent levels of customer service to all patients/visitors and staff at the trust.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship set by the Home Office and the skilled worker visa occupation list.

Qualifications and experience
Essential criteria
- QCF Level 2 Diploma in Care or equivalent. Equivalent experience will be considered, applicants must be willing to undergo this training.
Desirable criteria
- QCF Level 3 Diploma, Certificate or Award in Care or equivalent.
Application and Interview
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with adults of working age with mental health needs or working with offenders / patients with challenging behaviour.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of facilitating therapeutic activities with patients, either in groups or individually.
