We’re looking for a proactive, hands‑on Catering Team Leader to support the delivery of safe, high‑quality and person‑centred catering services for patients, staff and visitors.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead and support frontline catering and hostess teams, oversee the smooth running of daily meal services, maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards, manage stock and deliveries, ensure accurate documentation, and work closely with Dietitians and ward staff to keep services running on time and to a high standard.

Main duties of the job

To lead the delivery of a high quality, person centred and safe catering service for Patients, Staff and Visitors by overseeing the day to day operations of the Patient Meal Service and Housekeeping teams. This includes providing effective leadership and direction to Supervisors, Catering Assistants, Housekeepers and Hostesses, ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining robust operational processes across all areas.

Key Responsibilities

•    Provide clear leadership, motivation and direction to Supervisors and frontline catering and housekeeping staff.
•    Ensure all food safety, hygiene and legislative requirements are consistently met.
•    Oversee the accurate receipt, storage and rotation of all deliveries and stock.
•    Complete departmental, service and ward based audits, including PLACE led assessments.
•    Manage the day to day performance, training and development of catering staff.

•    Address customer concerns, service issues and complaints promptly to maintain high service standards
