Job overview

The post holder will provide close operational support to the Facilities Manager and will play a key role in the effective and efficient conduct of the teams’ day to day duties.

They will need to develop strong working relationships with staff at many levels within and outside the organisation including departmental managers, team leaders and operational staff.

The post holder will assist the Facilities Manager in managing budgets, staff, recruitment, performance and discipline, rotas, and will be responsible for the day to day running of the teams

Main duties of the job

This is an Operational Management and Leadership role, “boots on the ground” and intrusive.  The post holder will provide guidance, support and advice to staff, direct activities, implement changes, manage improvement, and develop skills within their team.

Within a hospital environment you will have to deal with complex, emotive & contentious issues. The role in will involve the scrutiny of spending to ensure financial targets are met.

The Assistant Facilities Manager will provide high quality & professional advice that is relevant to AGH Solutions departments, as well as supporting the Trust in providing information and solutions for other areas as required. In addition, they will be responsible for co-ordinating specific projects where required.

  • Broad experience within Facilities Management in an NHS setting
