Job overview

We are delighted to share with you an exciting opportunity for the role of  Director of Finance of AGH Solutions Ltd (AGHS). AGHS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) and commenced trading in March 2018. AGHS are proud to provides a wide range of services from estates maintenance to capital projects, facilities management, sterile services, wheelchair engineering and procurement services to the Trust supporting Airedale’s clinical services and other customers, mainly in the NHS all services being essential to support the provision of health and care to the communities we serve.

The successful candidates will be joining our organisation at an exciting time with a real opportunity to shape the development of AGH Solutions at a time when Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is embarking on the development of a new health and care facility through their participation the National New Hospital Programme.

Main duties of the job

The AGHS  Director of Finance role is pivotal role in leading  customer / supplier relationship between AGHS and the Trust along with meeting expectations of the shareholder/subsidiary relationship. The successful candidate will help develop a strong profile and reputation for AGHS and across estates, facilities and procurement sectors whilst remaining committed to NHS values. Leading cultural  and initiating AGHS innovations as part of a continuous improvement commitment in its drive for best practice in the services it offers.

Essential criteria
  • • Educated to degree level with Master’s or equivalent qualification or proven track record of experience.
  • • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • • Full qualification in one of the individual professional accounting bodies CCAB bodies or CIMA or CIPFA or equivalent.

  • • Financial management experience including

  • • Leadership in large complex results driven organisations.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Knowledge of the NHS finance regime
  • • In depth knowledge of Company accounting requirements, relevant legislation and accountability.
  • • Highly developed knowledge of best financial and commercial services practice.
  • • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, negotiation and relationship skills. Supported by effective leadership qualities.
  • • Capital and tax accounting knowledge, with knowledge of Corporation Tax and VAT regulations.
  • • Ability to contribute to strategy development and continuous improvement to deliver aspirations of the Company and act in a manner consistent with its values.
  • • Understanding of group structure accounting principles.
