Job overview

We are looking to recruit to the post of Dental Workforce Dean.  This role is a substantive role.  The post is 22.5 hours per week.

The role of the Dental Workforce Dean is to work with and support the NHS England Regional Postgraduate Dean and Regional Director of Workforce in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions that exist to deliver a dental workforce, aligned to the NHS England mandate.

Main duties of the job

The Dental Workforce Dean is professionally and managerially accountable to the Regional Postgraduate Dean. The role will focus upon the delivery and improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future. The role is evolving and will also focus on whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links as well as innovative ways of curriculum delivery and workforce well-being strategies.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support the Postgraduate Dean, Dental workforce Dean works across the spectrum of Dental health and, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models.  This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.

Although the main role is to lead and develop Postgraduate Dental training.  all senior clinicians within NHSE may have wider roles and projects as agreed with the Postgraduate Dean and Regional Workforce Director.
