Job overview

Previous applicants need not apply.

Are you an experienced paediatric physiotherapist looking to make a meaningful impact in a flexible, supportive role? Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a part-time Specialist Children's Physiotherapist to join our vibrant and dedicated team. In this pivotal role, you'll deliver physiotherapy services to children and young people across both outpatient clinics and inpatient care settings.  This role is a secondment to cover maternity leave.

As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll help shape and deliver services that support children with a wide range of health conditions—empowering them to take an active role in their own health and wellbeing.  You will be working alongside clinical specialist physiotherapists and advanced clinical practitioners.

This role offers flexibility to meet the needs of both the service and the post holder, making it ideal for those seeking a better balance between their personal and professional lives. Ideal working days: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Thursday is essential; some flexibility can be offered for the other days) 18.75 hours per week. Preferred structure to be spread across 3 days for optimal service delivery and work-life balance. No weekend working is required as part of this role.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high-quality physiotherapy to children and young people within both outpatient and inpatient settings.  The key specialism for this role is musculoskeletal.

  • Manage a personal caseload while contributing to the wider needs of the paediatric and new-born wards.

  • Opportunities to participate in specialist multidisciplinary clinics, such as DDH (baby hip), orthotic, respiratory, rheumatology and neonatal.

  • Offer guidance and supervision to Band 5 physiotherapists, therapy assistants and student physiotherapists.

  • Collaborate with other professionals across our child health services to continually improve and develop our physiotherapy offering.

  • Work in partnership with children and families to help them understand and manage their own health and wellbeing.

  • This role offers flexibility to meet the needs of both the service and the post holder, making it ideal for those seeking a better balance between their personal and professional lives.

Please see attached job description and person specification for full details of roles and responsibilities
