Are you an experienced or qualified Clinical Coder looking for your next challenge?
Working across all specialties within the Trust we can offer you the opportunity to continue to develop extensive multi disciplined coding skills and can provide training in any areas that you are not familiar with.
Work is currently mainly office based but we offer some hybrid on a rota basis. Over the next few years we hope to gradually extend the options for remote working.
Main duties of the job
You should have a track record of high quality coding, excellent communication skills and be prepared to mentor junior staff if the need arises.
You will be responsible for the application of clinical codes for inpatients in any specialty in the Trust.

Essential criteria
- ACC qualified
- In depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Experience in working with close attention to detail
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Desirable criteria
- Broad knowledge of medical terminology covering all acute specialties
- Ability to analyse and abstract relevant information from hand written, electronic and printed records
- Ability to search for and find medical conditions and procedures from international and national listings
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff to resolve coding problems
- Ability to offer advice on coding to any staff or departments in the Trust and to other Health Care Organisations
- Ability to work quickly to produce high quality work to tight time deadlines
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the changing needs of the department
- Experience in organising the workload without close supervision
