Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Senior Nurse  to join the  Surgery Division as the Divisional Director of Nursing.  You will be an  experienced, dynamic, and compassionate senior nurse  who will work in the Divisional Management team, which is led by a Clinical Director, working with the Divisional Director of Operations as part of the triumvirate leadership to  provide strategic, professional and operational nursing leadership across the Division and the wider organisation.

As the Divisional Director of Nursing  you will be responsible for providing effective clinical leadership to ensure that the nursing and Allied Health Professional agenda is clearly part of the Divisional Management Team decision making, service developments, transformation programmes, and contributes to both the Division and Trust strategic objectives.

Essential

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent level of experience (2 years in a senior nursing post – Matron or above)
  • Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development
  • Extensive experience as a senior operational clinical nurse within the last 3 years
  • Experience of financial management and of large pay and non-pay budgets
  • Extensive specialist knowledge and expertise across several nursing relevant subject areas gained through significant experience
  • In depth knowledge of the Clinical governance agenda including health and safety, clinical risk issues, and quality initiatives
  • Expert knowledge of children and adult safeguarding
  • Keyboard skills and IT skills to a level where accuracy and speed are guaranteed
