Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Locum Consultant Otolaryngologist to our ENT department in Salisbury. The successful applicant would perform General duties and develop a sub-specialty interest to complement the needs of the Department in Salisbury. Otology and Rhinology skills are particularly desirable. Applicants should have appropriate General Otolaryngology experience and would be expected to cover our network out-of-hours on call on a 1 in 12 basis. Development of clinical networks across this area is actively encouraged as well as across our ICB partners. Candidates offering innovative ways of working to benefit the Trust, including part time or shared working, should also apply.

Main duties of the job

A commitment to audit, appraisal, teaching, and clinical governance is expected. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of four/five Consultants and will be required to contribute to the continuing development of the Otolaryngology service at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and support the clinical network we have with University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust.

The Department is superbly equipped with full networking. Strong links exist with Maxillo-facial, Plastic surgery, paediatric, cleft lip and palate and audiology departments. The appointee will work in theatre and clinics and will be able to be involved with developing links with Primary Providers and Commissioners.
