Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 4 month fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow post in ENT at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. You will be an integral part of the ENT team involved in the assessment and management of ENT emergencies, outpatients and inpatients. 

Main duties of the job

Duties include:

Care of ENT inpatients

Assessment and management of ENT emergencies

Booking of ENT emergency clinic with close liaison with nursing staff

Supervision of ENT junior doctors

Support of Otology, Rhinology & Head & Neck service – clinics, theatre lists & MDT meetings

Out of hours middle grade on call for ENT network on 1 in 18 weekdays (initially this activity may be replaced by Saturday clinics until the post-holder is deemed competent for network on-call)

ENT network includes Southampton & Winchester so a car will be required

All duties will be supervised or advice easily available.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MBBS (or equivalent) Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • MRCS ENT (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 2 years NHS Experience
  • ST3 or above Level experience in: ENT emergencies, clinics and operating
  • Able to recognise serious illness
  • 4 years ENT experience

Aptitude

Essential criteria
  • Able to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • IT literate
  • Evidence of leadership / mentoring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
