Job overview

We are currently seeking professional and well-presented individuals to join our busy Switchboard team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust as a 24hr relief operator. 

Our department provides a welcoming 24-hour, 7 days a week telephony and internal emergency response service. Our team based here at Salisbury process circa 1.2 million calls per year.

As well as receiving and processing calls the switchboard team are also front facing for patients, staff and visitors covering a range of services via the enquiries window situated at the main entrance.

Salary Details :  All time worked on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8pm and before 6am + 35% to hourly rate. All time worked on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight) + 69% to hourly rate. Hourly rate starts at £12.75

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who can work alone and as part of a team, can work well under pressure and able to remain calm in challenging/difficult situations.

The successful candidate would need to be responsible, reliable with excellent people skills as well as having a flexible approach to work.

We are keen to find the right candidate to support the excellent professional service our team provides for this trust.

Previous switchboard or customer care experience would be useful but training and support will be given.
